Description
A maze of mossy rocks within an autumn forest perched high over a whitewater river as home to a variety of animals
Some number of years ago, while hiking in the Great Smoky Mountains, I had this really neat experience while watching a couple of deer foraging in the forest. I got quite lost in the experience and abruptly I noticed a variety of sounds in the space surrounding me. When I looked to see what it was all about, I noticed that all manner of little creatures had seemingly come out of nowhere. They were going about their business as if I wasn't there at all. The simplicity and innocence that I felt in that moment was unforgettable. I created this image in trying to capture something of the essence that I experienced that day.
The spirit name for this work is "The High Road"
Dedicated to people like, John Muir and Ansel Adams, and anyone who takes hold and runs with the original impetus of ecology through which everything is valued and all of life benefits.
