Phacus is a type of freshwater protozoa that uses chloroplasts like plants to make its own food, giving it a beautiful green colour. The red eyespot helps it find light to use for energy, and it uses its whip-like flagellum to swim to it. The outer part of the cell is rigid, and the cell has a flattened and twisted shape that reminds me of a delicate glass sculpture.
